Robert has more than 25 years' experience in pensions, including occupational schemes, executive and SSAS pension arrangements, personal pensions and SIPPs. Previous roles in the pensions industry include pensions administration, broker sales, marketing and product development.
Robert joined Rowanmoor Pensions in February 2008 to further enhance the company's already excellent reputation for innovation. Robert is Chairman of the Association of Member-Directed Pension Schemes (AMPS) and heads up liaison with HMRC and Treasury on issues affecting the member-directed pensions industry.

Phil Clarke

Immediately prior to joining James Hay in 1999, Phil Clarke spent 12 years managing the SSAS and SIPP department for Allied Dunbar. Prior to this he spent 22 years in the Civil Service, the last three being with the Pension Schemes Office (now known as Audit & Pension Scheme Services, HMRC) and Policy Division of the Inland Revenue dealing exclusively with Pensions legislation. Phil's professional qualification include the full Financial Planning Certificate. Phil leads a team of technical specialists who provide technical advice, both internally to administration staff and externally to clients and their advisers.

Iain Calder

Iain has in excess of 20 years of experience dealing with self-administered pension schemes. He joined James Hay in 1995 and was initially involved in the establishment of the team that would undertake the administration of the SSAS portfolio for the then newly awarded outsourcing contract with Standard Life. Prior to joining James Hay he worked for a number of life offices in a variety of SSAS administration roles. He is now the Principal Technical Adviser at Rowanmoor Pensions dealing with staff training, the acceptance of investments and also legislative and other changes introduced by HMRC.

Caroline Brierley

Caroline graduated in 1997 with a first class Degree in Mathematics and originally trained as an actuary at CIS Limited, gaining the Diploma in Actuarial Techniques and a Certificate in Finance and Investment. She joined James Hay's SSAS division in 2002 before moving on to a senior role at an actuarial consultancy and trustee company in Manchester. With over 10 years of varied pension industry experience, Caroline rejoined Rowanmoor Pensions in 2007 as Senior Technical Adviser and is also responsible for compliance monitoring of the Family Pension Trust.

Tim Hammond

Tim joined James Hay straight from university in 1994, and accumulated 15 years of experience working at all levels in the SSAS and Family Pension Trust administration departments before joining the Product Development Team, where he assisted with the development of the Rowanmoor Pensions SIPP. He joined the Technical Department after the successful launch of the SIPP in May 2009.
