Administration Team

Clients receive a personal, portfolio based service from one of our two administration centres. A named administrator, who works as part of a team, is assigned to each scheme. The administrator is backed by colleagues on the team, under the direction of a supervisor with over 10 years' SSAS experience. This system of shared support complements the close working relationship that grows between clients and Rowanmoor Pensions' administrators.

Lucy Matthews started her career undertaking valuations and rent reviews in the commercial property world. In 1986 she joined a small team at James Hay as an administrator, and has seen the Company expand and develop to its current size. She is now Administration Director (South) responsible for the Administration Department in Salisbury, having overall responsibility for some 2,900 clients and 75 staff.

Immediately prior to joining James Hay in 1999, Phil Clarke spent 12 years managing the SSAS and SIPP department for Allied Dunbar. Prior to this he spent 22 years in the Civil Service, the last three being with the Pension Schemes Office (now known as Audit & Pension Scheme Services, HMRC) and Policy Division of the Inland Revenue dealing exclusively with Pensions legislation. Phil leads a team of technical specialists who provide technical advice, both internally to administration staff and externally to clients and their advisers.

Sarah started her pensions career in the EPP department of UK Provident (now Friends Provident) in 1978. In 1987 she joined James Hay for a period of 18 months, before taking a career break to raise her family. In 1993 she returned to James Hay. She is now the Rowanmoor Pensions Administration Manager in Salisbury.

Ray Wheeler is the Business Project Manager for Rowanmoor Pensions. Ray is FCII and MSFA qualified. Prior to joining James Hay in 1997, he spent two years as Pensions Manager with Independent Financial Adviser Berry Birch & Noble. Ray also spent ten years with Legal & General in a variety of administration roles covering all aspects of pensions, from Group Final Salary schemes, Personal Pensions, Executive Pension Plans and SSAS.

Janet entered the financial services industry in 1984 by joining a life assurance office as a consultant. In 1988 she joined a small London based brokerage and spent two years in corporate financial funding before moving to Salisbury to settle and raise a family. Janet returned to the financial services arena in 1995 by joining Abbey National Independent Financial Advisers, as office manager. She joined James Hay in 1999, taking on her present role as Financial Services Administration Manager of Rowanmoor Investment Management Limited in 2006.

Chris Terrey is the Administration Director (North) responsible for Rowanmoor Pensions' Administration Centre in Bolton. Chris is BA (Econ.) & FPMI qualified. He started his career with Noble Lowndes in 1978 before joining Prolific and then Scottish Provident, where he occupied senior management positions in both technical services and administration. Chris joined James Hay in 1998 and is responsible for approximately 2,600 clients and 50 staff.

Christine started her career in 1983 as an administrator, assisting Douglas John Townley in developing his Actuarial Consultancy and SSAS business, which would eventually be sold to James Hay. Over the last 25 years Christine has gained a wealth of SSAS experience at all levels and is now Rowanmoor Pensions Administration Manager for the Administration Department in Bolton.

Stuart Mason is Pension Fund Accounts Manager based in Bolton. He has a team of six to assist in the production of annual report and accounts, annual tax returns and calculations, PAYE, VAT and other accounting related matters in respect of over 500 schemes.

Prior to entering the world of self-administered pensions over ten years ago Stuart held Financial and Management accounting positions with Warner Lambert, Seddon Atkinson and Courtaulds.
